CM4001 - Secure Console Server von Opengear
|
| |
| |
| |
| Opengear’s CM4001 console server enables System Administrators, Network Manager and Support Help Desks to affordably monitor and control the IT systems and networks in their branch offices and distributed customer sites.
The CM4001 provides reliable secure access to the serial console ports, and to the graphical desktop screens, of the Windows, Sun and Linux computers in their remote sites. They also monitor and control network infrastructure (switches, firewalls etc) and manage general appliances (PBXs, building security, power switches etc). |

|
|
| The CM4001 makes remote control and management truly affordable for small business sites, POS retail enterprises, healthcare offices, hospitality venues, gaming sites and other replicated sites.
To date it has not been practical to install comprehensive remote management coverage in such sites. Solutions based on legacy KVMoIP simply have had far too high bandwidth costs and per unit costs. Similarly the limited functionality of classical console servers (coupled with their inflated prices) have precluded their use in such sites.
Simple Robust and Secure
However Opengear's console servers provide a simple and secure solution for accessing, monitoring, and controlling these distributed networks of servers and appliances, from a single site. The CM4001 provides direct console and screen access for troubleshooting and diagnostics, and enable the infrastructure to be reconfigured and rebooted, ensuring availability at critical times.

| A CM4001 console server at a remote site can be accessed in-band through the Internet or the enterprise IP network; or out-of-band (OoB) through a dial-up modem PPP port or a management network. All connections are secure, with encrypted access to remote systems using up to 128-bit AES encryption. CM4000 also provides a selection of filtering and access logging facilities. All console logs can be archived off line. Access also can be restricted by IP address, by password, or by account. So managers can securely control and manage their distributed networks of servers and appliances.
With its Secure Desktop Tunneling (SDT) enabling secure RDP and VNC access, and its rich set of console management features, the CM4001 is the solution for off-site control and administration of the smaller site. The CM4001enables an unrestricted number of distributed "users" to securely control "serial" devices (server computers, routers, firewalls etc). The SDT feature also enables those users to securely control an unlimited number of network connected computers and appliances (Windows/ Linux / SUN servers, desktop PCs, routers etc) though secure remote SSH “tunnels” to the site.

| The tunneled HTTP support enables monitoring and control of network infrastructure (switches, firewalls etc), and management of general appliances (power, access security etc). And the tunneled VNC and Remote Desktop enables the user to securely control distributed Windows PCs and manage embedded PC devices. While the tunneled Telnet access provides secure remote command line access, BIOS/EMS monitoring etc.
